Heart-beating variations (2007)
for bass, flute, piano, tape
Duration: 4 min
This piece is written in order to be perceptible from babies during pregnancy. Imitating and elaborating the low-frequency sounds in the womb but always preserving the periodical character of the heart-beating sound as point of reference for the fetus, this piece tries to create a connecting bridge between the inside and the outside world. The frequencies are carefully chosen to be perceptible by the fetus that means not higher than 492 Hz (B3).
